Let the Conversations Commence

November 18th, 2008 by Leo Wurschmidt

As I promised in my last blog post, you can see the top commenters on my blog right now. Unfortunately, the list only shows me right now, but I am sure that is just because we have a lot of commenters who are not registered with Intense Debate. This will surely change and I am excited about that.

Speaking of Intense Debate, I have now set this blog up with their comment-tracking system. They really help out with creating more of a conversation on a blog than the traditional commenting setup. Please kick the tires on how Intense Debate looks and functions on the blog. Let me know whether you think this is a good addition to the blog.

If you like what you see, I suggest getting an account with Intense Debate.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts and reading your comments (as always).

Hi Leo, took your advice and got an account with Intense Debate. I am interested to see how this can affect my blog. Keep the advice coming.

You will be happy you got the ID account. It will really help you keep track of your blogging conversations. Well talk more about how to implement this on your blog and how it can help.

    See ya.

I'm officially on ID! Installed instantly and effortlessly. Only one tweak necessary to the comment table (had to remove abbr tag that was added with CommentLuv plugin)… I'm going to post about it within the next couple day.

    Very.. Very cool.

Awesome! I think you will really enjoy ID over Disqus, especially considering the fact that you were not able to get it to mesh well with everything else.

Do you like hte CommentLuv plugin? I have heard about it from quite a few people, but never added it.

    Thanks for commenting!

I could take or leave the CommentLuv plugin. It was sort of cool to see the persons last post but rarely would visit a blog because of it.

  6. Leo Wurschmidt Says:

Hmm, that is a great point. I think I will leave it on the table then… for now at least. :)

This is the best part of Intense Debate (and Disqus) is that they help people keep track of replies to comments, which really enables conversations on blogs.

I just added ya on Twitter. Take care bro.

hehe. did you see my epic post on this?

  9. Leo Wurschmidt Says:

I did!! I loved it. I was reading it while I was in the airport in San Juan, PR and thought it better to comment when I had a larger keypad in hand. Like you said, that post was epic and it really broke the main commenting systems down very nicely.

Like you man, I think the best of the flawed systems really is ID.
